Too Long...

Too long, it has been too long since i last updated this blog... am i that busy?

well, look like I am!! Busy and stressed out..hmmm....

anyway.......

i'm half way through my study already.. yeay! the biggest chuck are over and now i'm doing this last piece of work before i finish.. double yeay!!

Hubby's study also has almost come to the end, just few more tweak here and there.. and hopefully he will be able to submit by July/August time.. insyAllah

90 days from today and we are leaving this English land heading for lovely home sweet home...

70% of our stuffs here are packed and sealed ready to be shipped back home (oh yeah, we are so ready to go..)

We will be celebrating Eid in Malaysia with beloved family and friends this year! yeay!!!

that's a lot to celebrate this year, isn't it? ;-)

hope all goes well and as planned. Pray for us.

14th Ramadhan today...

Salam.. dah 2 minggu kita berpuasa. Sekejap jer lagi dah nak raya kan? Nasib baik lah kat sini takde Mega Sale raya.. kalu tak mesti dah sibuk nak beli baju raya, kasut raya, beg raya dan lain-lain.. hehehe.. save duit!

I bet shopping kompleks kat Msia tu sure meriah sakan! Ohh how I miss shopping raya kat Plaza Angsana huhu... Next year kalu sempat balik before raya, for sure situ lah salah satu tempat WAJIB singgah.. mintak2 ler dapat balik before raya..AMIN.

Semalam dah start buat kuih raya sikit... nanti lah dah banyak baru kita tempek gambar kat sini. baru meriah sikit hehe... baru rasa macam beli kuih kat Angsana! Itu pun kalau banyak lah kan.. kalu sikit simpan sendiri sudeh :P

2 weeks today I will no longer be part of University of Nottingham. 3rd September will be my last day.. then i'm back to become a student again. Today I received an email from NTU about registration, joining instruction and what not. Classes will start 20th September...

Since some of my colleagues are going for a long holiday from tomorrow and won't be here on my last day so I made a cake for them...

Some even give me card and gifts before they left.

Hari ni tak nak cerita pasal buka puasa sebab semalam makan nasi putih n lauk biasa2 jer. Pastu pulak budak2 tu sibuk nak makan pizza so mama nyer order jer SETTLED! hehe.. tomato and cheese pizza and BBQ chicken pizza.

Ni nak tunjuk gambor masa we all pegi Legoland aritu. This trip sempena Along's 10th birthday on 12th August. Because it fall during Ramadhan, so we bring forward the trip to the last week before Ramadhan..

Millions of LEGO bricks!! This theme park is just right for the kids at my kiddos age. We managed to get on most of the rides unlike masa kat Disneyland.. adik always tak cukup height so we can't get on it together-gether.

We left Notts around 6 am ish and got there around 915 am. Just in time before the park opens at 930. The weather was quite cloudy but i guess it's a blessing in disguise as it feels a bit cool hence we are less tired. All day at the park.. left the park around 8pm (tu dia.. punya lah lama dari pagi..kaki dah mcm nk tercabut penat!!)

Salam semua

Dah hari ke-6 kita puasa hari ni kan? Kejap jer kan.. cepat betul masa berjalan. Semalam tak dapat nak update blog. Maklum ler, bila weekend ni busy nyer lebih skit. Masa ni ler nak buat macam-macam - nak pikir masak apa untuk buka jer dah dekat setengah hari hehehe… tu tak masuk buat keje2 lain lagi!

NMC Iftar picnic last Saturday...tak jadi picnic sebab cuaca tak mengizinkan.. so buat indoor kat Islamia School. Makanan secara pot luck, tapi kami di ‘arah’kan bawak makanan cukup utk makan sekeluarga jer. Pastu nanti tukar2 ler makanan. So after pikir dekat setengah hari tu J akhirnya terhasil lah nasi tomato, ayam masak merah and acar rampai. Kuih plak we all bawak kuih BOM!..

Ni bukan BOM main-main tau.. ni betul2 bom yang boleh meletop okey!! Kalau goreng api besar sangat and goreng terlebih lama, maka meletup lah dia!!! Lawak betul. Tu lah resepi main ‘hentam’ jer, padan muka! Tapi gambar ni nampak lawa jer kan? I dah sembunyikan bahagian2 yang merekah tu.. tapi in term of taste.. not bad (sendiri buat, sendiri puji lah kan?) Lembut and sedap. Credit to myself hehehe...

Ni lah juadah kami. Kalau tengah lapar memang tempting habis kan? Al-kisahnya AJK NMC buat pertandingan suka2.. juadah mana yang paling menarik? So u all rasa sape yang menang?? Hihi… sape lagi? Makcik ler!!! Dapat kurma sekotak. Along and Angah yang seronok benor dapat hadiah..

Ni pulak chicken,patato and mushroom pie yang buat malam Sabtu aritu. Dah kena bedal separuh baru ingat nk ambik gambor. Pie ni Along yang suka sangat.. dah lama dia suruh buat tapi mama nyer asyik bertangguh jer! Maklum 'rajin' kan.. tp ni bulan pose kesian pulak kat dia.. akhirnya setelah memaksa diri buat benda ni balik from iftar session tu, alhamdulillah jadi jugak. Laju dia makan masa sahur tu hihi..

Semalam pulak kami berbuka dengan nasi goreng cina, sweet and sour seabass and egg tofu with mixed vegetables. Pastu buat roti john.. tapi hampeh semua tak ambik gambar sebab takde mood. Lagi pun adik demam, so melayan dia jer lah..

Salam semua.. hari ni dah masuk hari ke-4 kita berpuasa. Alhamdulillah walaupun kami berpuasa selama lebih kurang 17 jam, semua nya di permudahkan oleh Nya. Cuaca pun sejuk jadi tak lah rasa letih sangat. Along and Angah pun setakat ni puasa penuh lagi, so alhamdulillah.

So masak apa semalam ? Semalam the other half request nak makan nasi pattaya. Bagus jugak, jadi tak payah nak pikir apa nak masak… So here’s what we had yesterday…

Salam semua.. camne puasa semalam? Kami kat Nottingham ni berbuka kul 840pm. Perrghh jenuh lah jugak dengar budak2 tu membebel.. bila nak buka ni? Lama nyer.. dah lapar lah.. kalau ikut kan memang nak kasi dia orang berbuka ikut time Malaysia, tapi bila tengok macam segar bugar jer (bergasak lagi ader lah!) so diam kan jer.. akhir nya puasa penuh jugak dia orang semalam!

Resepi ambik kat blog MamaFami tapi I dah ubah sikit, topping tu guna chocolate ganache jer pastu tabur ler hiasan sikit kasi lawa sikit hehehe... Simple dah senang jer nak buat brownies ni. Siap adun in 10 mins pastu bake around 35 mins jer. Thanks kepada tuan punya resepi ni.

Salam Ramadhan semua (hihi.. macam ler ramai benor yang baca blog nie)

Sedar tak sedar dah masuk tahun ke-4 kita org puasa kat sini.. huhu. Tapi takpe tahun depan insyallah kami akan balik for good.. yipee!! (sila tepuk tangan.. hehehe) Dan seperti biasa bila masuk bulan puasa, hari2 pikir apa nak masak. Kalau kat Msia boleh ler main tunjuk2 jer kat PARAM (pasar ramadhan). Kat sini kalu nak wat camtu dapat kebab jer lah... So apa lagi mula lah menjelajah blog-blog masakan untuk cari idea. Perghh.. terliur seh tengok gambor2 masakan diorang ni.

So let's see what we had yesterday for iftar.. btw kita berbuka kul 843 pm semalam.

Sajer jer masak banyak-banyak sikit.. konon nak rasa macam beli lauk kat Bazar Ramadhan :P hehehe.. Sebenarnya nak bagi budak2 tu semangat sikit nak berbuka.. maklumlah berpuasa dekat 17 jam kan (from 4am - 843pm) so kena lah motivate lebih sikit.. especially lauk ketam tu, memang khas untuk dia orang jer.

ok lah.. tengok hari ni rezeki apa pulak berbuka nanti...

Boleh ke tu En Fendi oiii??? Dah ler awak tu semput, lain plak cerita nyer nanti :0)

En Fendi skrg pegi sekolah naik basikal... konon nya nak excercise. Al-maklum jer lah dah gendut mcm org ngandung 4 bulan hehehe...

Memula beli basikal kena tipu.. ye lah kan, baru first time tak tahu apa pun pasal basikal. Gear basikal rosak lah pulak, sudah nyer first day tu bukan En Fendi kayuh basikal... En Fendi kena tolak basikal pegi n balik Uni - hah separuh nyawa tinggal hehehe...

Bila nk g betul kn basikal tu.. mamat kat kedai tu kata 'basikal lain boleh betul kan, basikal ni dia x nak betul kn sebab kalu bukak jer semua berderai' . Laa.. gitu lah pulak. At the end trade in jer basikal bodoh tu.. kena tambah duit lagi plak tu! Rugi2...

Ni ler basikal dia.. dah 2 hari bwk basikal. Asal sampai bukit jer kena turun tolak basikal... apahal??? Gaya bagai nak rak alih-alih tolak basikal? Pastu sampai ofis jer sedut inhaler dulu hehehe...

Takpe en fendi.. bak kata ezaddin 'go papa go!!'. Baru2 mmg ler camtu. Lepas ni u all jgn terkejut lah tengok betapa 'fit' nyer laki I ok?? Hahaha... ye lah tu!

After 13 years...

I will become a student again!! Gumbira kah?? Of course lah.. sebab bukan senang nak dapat scholarship from UTM especially untuk pentadbir, kat luar negara plak tu. Aritu masa pegi meeting dgn VC kat LOndon, dia asik cakap UTM takde duit jer.. budget kena potong lah.. masa tu mmg dah confirm mesti tak dapat punya! Tapi alhamdullilah.. dah mmg rezeki agak nya, akhirnya dapat jugak!

Mekasih ler UTM :0) Budi mu di kenang hahaha... (ala pasni kena contract keje 2 tahun pun! kira balas budi lah tu hehehe...)

Pasni boleh ler g sekolah sesama dgn En Fendi hehehe... like 15 years ago!

Yang pasti dah tak sabor nak berenti keje.. 5 more months to go!

Mudah2an kan Alah permudahkan segala urusan kami di sini.. DAN YANG PASTI tahun depan nak balik.. hehehe.. tu yang best tu! !

7th March aritu my parents in-law, adik ipar ku Kamal and best pren dia Faris datang ke bumi UK ni. Agenda utama of course jalan-jalan and SHOPPING! Kamal n Faris seminggju jer kat sini so got to rush ler.. nk jalan, nk shopping.. papa n mama lama skit sbb nk g jalan stuttgart plak nak nengok cucu dia kat sana. My father in law nyer cucu international ok.. german ada, british ada, jawa pun ada ok... ada ker?? ntah... wakakaka...

Orang datang dah tentu lah bershopping sakan... esp now exchange rate dah turun so lagi banyak ler bershopping.. tuan rumah pun tumpang sekaki gak.. tak sedar diri!!

Tapi terkejut gak lah bila dia org kata some of the brand yang kita kat UK ni tak pandang sgt (or maybe just me kot) mcm FCUK, Ted Baker or Fred Parry mahal giler babas kat Msia! Mcm jeans FCUK tu satu sampai RM600.. giler ker? Tak payah pakai lah kalu camtu...

Tapi biasa ler bebudak muda ni (I admit I dah tak muda sgt.. muda sikit jer hehehe) suka mengabiskan duit.. kata org tu.. biar pape asal bergaya! Habis si Kamal n Faris borong brg2 FC. Pantang nampak kedai FC mesti nk masuk.. t-shirt yang ntah ape2 tu pun dia beli.. eeiii tak paham.

Dulu Mak Teh sorang jer.. sekarang dah ada Ayah Teh hehehe... Walaupun anak-anak ku tak dpt feeling dapat uncle, but they understand. Tu penat ajar nak kasi ingat.. ayah teh ok.. not pak teh.. pak teh tak best.

Anyway tahniah kat adik ku Tini and hubby Halis yang telah selamat melangsung kan perkahwinan pada 27th March yang lepas. Walaupun tak bape meriah sebab kita org takde (wakaka.. perasan) tapi yang penting semua dah selesai dengan selamat.

Saturday 13th February we went for a meeting with UTM VC at Imperial College London. Dato' Prof Dr Zaini Ujang was there for an official trip to UK top Univ - Cambridge and Oxford and he took the opportunity to REMIND us..

Balik lah oiii..
Siapkan PhD tu cepat2..
jangan nak duduk sini lama-lama..
UTM and kerajaan Malaysia dah takde duit nk tanggung..

BAPAK DAH TAKDE DUIT.. JGN NAK MINTAK MACAM2!!

UTM sekarang dah tak macam UTM 3 tahun dulu..
Balik cepat buat paper high impact banyak2..
Balik cepat kena buat research banyak2..
Networking penting..
Takde publications/takde research SKT max 70%.. hehehe... stress lah korang!!!
Kalu boleh bawak balik SV sekali to UTM sbb UTM nk tambah international staff..
Kalau tak pun kalu ada kenal mana2 PhD holder kat sini yg nk keje kat Msia.. angkut sekali bawak balik UTM..
Bukan pikir nak bawak balik Mercedes jer.. Hah! ambik sekali korang.. kena SEBIJIK!

Abis meeting tu Dato' ajak makan kat Malaysia Hall.. aku tengok muka masing-masing berkerut. Panjang menung..termasuk ler En Fendi. hehehe.. pikir apa En Fendi???

Kita yang bukan staf akademik ni pun terasa 'bahang' nyer.. ni kan pulak depa yang memang direct kena batang hidung memasing!

Walau apa pun.. I would like to mentioned here that I'M NOW PROUD TO BE PART OF THE NEW UTM. I considered it as new as it has had a major total overhaul on almost everything.. and I believe UTM will be Malaysia number one university soon!! It's not gonna be easy but we will one day... InsyAllah.

Al-Fatihah

Al-fatihah buat Allayarhamah Nenek (my kids call her Nek Nyang) yang meninggal dunia pagi tadi (Jumaat, 12 Februari 2010 jam 3 petang waktu Malaysia) di Hospital Muar.

Sejak nenek kena stroke pada 24 Jan yang lepas, nenek terus tak sedar. Nenek ada high blood pressure and she's on pills. Of lately nenek jadi pelupa sangat2. Lupa makan ubat, ubat letak kat mana pun dia lupa. Umur pun dah 80 lebih kan... so maybe nak di jadi penyebab.. rasa nya dia lupa makan ubat. Masa dia kena stroke blood pressure dia sangat tinggi, so kata Dr salur darah burst and blood clot dah ada dalam kepala. Nenek memang tak sedar dan terbaring jer sejak tu. Makan pun pakai tube. Dr kata tak boleh Op sbb terlalu risky... jadi dia akan macam tu sampai lah akhir hayat dia.

We all redha.. cuma terkilan sebab anak2 dia tak de disisi masa nenek meninggal. Kebetulan abah yang duduk dekat pun pergi ke JB ada urusan. Takpe lah dah tiba waktu dia dijemput oleh Nya. Kami hanya mampu berdoa semuga Allah mencucuri rahmat ke atas roh nenek dan di tempatkan dia dikalangan orang-orang yang beriman. Al-fatihah.

Venice

Our picts in Venice. Nak cerita banyak pun tak boleh sebab dah lama... so makcik dah luper. Tapi yang memang ingat sangat-sangat... weather masa kat sini panas giler! Panas terik yang teramat sangat.. Malaysia pun tak panas cenggini! From campsite kami kena naik bot nak ke Venice. Dari dalam bot ..bila nampak jer Venice terus teringat cerita Italian Job..pergghhh seronok giler! tak sangka we all dapat menjejak kan kaki di sini. Alhamdulillah...

Venice ni kan bandar atas air.. so gondola/boat is the main transportation here. And because dia tas air, so banyak lah jambatan yang menghubungkan one side to the other. Camni ni ler rupa jalan-jalan air kat venice tu.

Ni gambar atas gondola.. mahal giler nak naik gondola nie, tapi sebab pikir lepas ni tak datang sini lagi - naik lah jugak. Al-fatihah buat Allahyarham Nabil Fikri Hamidon staf di Fakulti Kejuruteraan Awam UTM yang meninggal dalam accident baru-baru nie. Wife Nabil, Suzie used to be my staff masa kat FKA dulu. Lebih menyedihkan Suzie tengah tunggu hari jer nak bersalin anak pertama.

Kalau Suzie baca entry nie.. saya harap Suzie banyak-banyak bersabar. Berat mata memandang, berat lagi Suzie yang memikul nya.. tapi ini lah dugaan hidup. Ajal dan maut dah ditentukan oleh Nya. Suzie kena kuat kan semangat demi anak yang bakal lahir tu. Yang pergi tetap pergi, tapi kita yang hidup perlu teruskan kehidupan. Insyallah keluarga dan kawan-kawan akan tetap di sisi Suzie.

Lately I've had few depressing news. First nenek kena stroke, there's blood clot in her brain - can't op it's too risky. Now her body is basically not functioning at all.. she's just laying there waiting... for you know what.

Then my application for... was KIV until dunno when.

Then Angah was suspected with anaemic.. have had another blood test last week and still awaiting result.

Then the never ending depressing weather.. it really add up to the stress!!

Hopefully Feb will be much better ...

What will it be? Hmm.. whatever the result is, we'll accept it. If it's a yes then it will probably change my life a little bit but if it's a no.. then nothing will change. I guess it's not so BIG deal pun kan? Kalau ada rezeki.. ada lah. Kalau tak, maybe ada rezeki lebih baik yang menunggu out there somewhere....

Raya Haji 2009

Raya kali ni special sikit sebab mak and abah ada kat sini. Memang plan baik jer supaya diaorg datang time nie, walaupun adik2 kat msia tu marah sebab tahun lepas pun derang raya haji sendiri2 sbb mak and abah pegi haji.. tak pe lah korang, kita orang kat sini dah masuk 5 kali raya sendiri (raya puasa and raya haji sekali). Walaupun sejuk sikit tapi takpe lah... dapat gak raya sama2. Nak tunggu balik Mesia ntah2 lambat lagi..

Seronok dapat raya dengan atuk & nenek!

Juadah raya.. nasi impit, rendang, lodeh , sambal kacang and nasi tomato dan ayam masak merah. Sedap tak? hehehe.. tak sesedap kat msia..

Pastu kali ni kami ada tetamu special dari jauh. dari USM. Derang ni datang UK berjalan, singgah Nottingham nak jumpa Robin Hood. Jadi sebelum jumpa Robin Hood kena jumpa Penghulu dia dulu.. anyway derang ni dah bape hari tak jumpa nasi, so memang rezeki lah kan.. alah hari raya pun kan... bukan selalu ramai2 camni. Baru meriah! tetamu kami tak berenti sampai ke malam.. alhamdulillah.

BIG CHILL: BRITAIN WARNED MORE SNOW TO COME. This is among the news headline lately. Sana sini sibuk cerita pasal snow. Sejuk tu jangan cerita lah.. bungkus tebal mana pun tetap jugak sejuk. Kalau nak hidang makan, periuk nasi panas tu boleh pegang gitu jer.. hah bayangkan! kalu rumah macam kita orang yang single glazing window ni.. dalam rumah pun kalau boleh nk pakai glove! sebulan dua ni bil gas/elektrik mesti melambung punya.. abis kalu dah almost 24hrs bukak heater mana tak nyer! tu pun tetap jugak sejuk.

Malam ni temperature is predicted to be as low as -7C. giler betul.. I'm now officially had enough of SNOW! Tak nak snow lagi! Pada korang yang tak pernah tengok snow.. percaya lah tak best mana pun. Nampak je cantik tapi menyusahkan! bersyukurlah kita kat Malaysia tu cuaca sama jer all year round! Nak pegi keje susah, budak2 nk pegi sekolah pun susah, nak drive jalan memang licin so naik bus.. tapi kekadang bus pun tak operate sbb jalan byk tutup and/or licin.

Tapi yang paling seronok maybe budak2 kot.. first sebab dapat main snow and kedua sekolah tutup sebab cikgu stranded tak dapat sampai ke sekolah!! Hari ni jer kat Nottinghamshire 280 sekolah tutup because of snow!! Teruk kan dia orang ni? Kalau kat US dulu setakat snow mcm sekarang ni.. takde benda pun! Orang US kalu tengok sure kata this is nothing! dulu snow sampai paras lutut pegi sekolah mcm biasa jugak! Ntah lah.. yang penting I've had enough. Cukup2 lah tu snow..

It is snowing outside as I'm updating this n3. Tapi ni snow intro jek.. kejap jer tu. Maybe more to come in few days ahead. This year it's early last year heavy snow was in Feb. Cuaca pun dah makin sejuk, daily temp sekarang ni biasanya below 5C. Kalau malam mesti negatif. Nasib baik atuk & nenek dah balik kalu tak mesti dia orang tak tahan.

Tomorrow the kids are gonna break up from school for 3 wks for Xmas/New Year. Kalu dia orang tak sekolah, lantak lah.. nak snow, snow lah sebab tak payah keluar rumah.

I'm really looking forward to the holiday now...

Lama nya tak ber'blogging'... banyak betul yang nak dicerita. Asyik busy jer, tak sempat nk duduk mengadap PC lama-lama. Gambar-gambar dalam camera tu pun tak sempat2 nak transfer lagi. Gambar pun dah basi - dari raya aidilfitri sampai lah ke raya haji baru-baru ni. Cerita trip Europe memang dah basi sangat - kalau makanan dah lama masuk tong sampah!!

Sedar tak sedar dah seminggu kita puasa.. tinggal lagi 3 minggu jer kita berada di bulan Ramadhan Al-Mubarak ni. Mudah-mudahan kita dapat melipat gandakan amalan di bulan yang mulia ini.

Cerita pasal bulan puasa ni.. tak tahu kenapa tahun ni teringat benor PaRam. Bukan Param pelakon veteran yang meninggal baru2 nie.. ni PAsar RAMadhan. Cakap jer nak makan apa, semua ada kat situ... sedap dgn tak sedap jer lah.

Ayam percik, nasi kerabu, roti john, murtabak, nasi lemak berlauk, segala lauk pauk, segala mee yang ada kuah, yang takde kuah, segala mak-bapak kuih muih - our all time fav kuih, tepung pelita, karipap, donut, kole kacang, segala air2 yang berwarna-warni ABC rock, cendol, air tebu, air soya, air katira... banyak nyer tak tersebut kat sini (tapi dah terbayang2 kat depan mata dah ni...)

Nak mengubat hati kita buat lah kuih mana yang mampu.. tapi al maklumlah kuih di perantauan kan, asal boleh je lah.. asal ada, janji rasa sama, cume presentation jer lain...

Amacam ok tak kuih kita? Ni lah PaRam kita.. kat dapur kita jer.. huhuhuuu...

Punya lah lama since the last entry on our Europe trip. Tu baru day two (day one tak kira coz that's travelling day from UK to Europe) ada lagi 11 hari nk update nie... Dah basi dah cerita trip ni. Maklumlah kan bulan puasa, nak masak lagi, nak terawikh, pastu pikir pulak sahur nak makan apa, esok buka nak masak apa, cukup tak barang nk masak ni.. kalu tak kena singgah kedai pulak.. etc.. etc... Pendek kata memang tak cukup time, macam2 nak buat. Nanti dah 2 minggu pose dah nak buat kuih raya pulak.. hehehe.. macam2 projek. Kena cari gak time nak update, kalu tak nanti lupa pulak nama tempat2 nie.

Badeness Campsite

Hi lah campsite kami di frankfurt. Tapi sori lah tak sempat nk ambik gambar banyak sebab kat sini semua kena duduk tent, so sampai2 jer semua sibuk cari port tent masing2. Pastu nak pasang tent pun, bukan nya reti sangat. First time camping lah ni kira nya.. HURU-HARA jadi nya. Nasib baik Nor tolong.. thanks Nor.

Siap jer pasang tent, nak rebut toilet plak. Shower bukak sampai kul 11pm jer, lambat tak mandi ler jawab nya. Shower pompuan 2 jer yg ada pintu proper.. yang lain open! Hah sape yang sanggup sila lah.. akak tak sanggup sorry!! Puas jugak lah kami tengok 'free show' makcik2 omputih dlm toilet tu.. tanpa segan silu! Tu lah dia kan kalu dah takde perasaan malu.. eeee nasib baik satu malam jer duk kat campsite nie!

Selamat Menyambut Ramadhan Al-Mubarak

Rasa macam dah terlambat lah pulak.. tapi apa2 pun kami sekeluarga mengucapkan SElamat Berpuasa kepada semua umat Islam terutama buat keluarga dan kawan-kawan tak kira di mana berada. Semoga Ramadhan kali ini lebih bermakna dan lebih baik dari tahun-tahun sebelum.

Nampak nya kami berpuasa di UK lagi tahun ni. Dari pukul 415am (lebih kurang) hingga lebih kurang pukul 815mlm. Makin hari semakin lewat sikit waktu subuh dan semakin awal sikit masuk maghrib. Hmmm lebih kurang 16 jam jugak tu.. tapi alhamdulillah dipermudahkan Allah, Along dan Angah pun dapat puasa penuh (setakat ni lah...) . Tahun depan akan lebih mencabar sebab waktu berbuka lebih kurang pukul 9 malam... IAllah di permudahkan olehNya.

Big city, hectic, busy macam kat KL jugak.

Sampai2 jer we all naik cruise round2 Amsterdam.

Nampak tak basikal banyak2 tu? Kat sini ramai yang commute guna basikal. They even have special lane untuk basikal and motor.

Interesting facts about Amsterdam

Sex business is legal. Red Light district (RLD) is the famous area for this business. Sekitar kawasan ni, segala 'benda' yang berkaitan di jual secara open. Kalau lalu kawasan ni siang2 tak nampak ler red-light tu, tapi kalau waktu malam bila nampak red-light tu, makna nya 'open for business'. Pilih jer nak yang mana on display window tu...

Day 1 - London to Amsterdam

Saturday -18 July 2009.

Pukul 4 pagi dah sampai London. Punya lah laju taxi driver tu drive, 2.5 hrs dah sampai London. Apalah nak buat pagi2 buta dah sampai situ. Nasib baik driver tu, Mr Zafar baik hati..kesian kat we all so dia bawak pergi Central mosque dulu untuk solat. Mula2 suspens jugak sebab takde orang lain pun.. betul ke tempat we all tunggu nie? Rupanya... mana nak ada orang, baru pukul 5 pagi! Sepatutnya janji pukul 7 pagi... so menunggu lah we all dalam kesejukan hampir 2 jam...

7am - One by one participants datang. Pukul 8.15am bas bertolak ke Dover. Perjalanan ke Dover dalam 2.5-3 hrs. Apa lagi.. dapat jer seat terus lelap, sedar2 dah nak sampai Dover. Kelana Convoy (KC) provide breakfast tapi for today cuma dapat Brioche bun jer... tak kisah lah sebab bekalan dari rumah banyak.. hehehe..

From Dover naik ferry pukul 1225. Journey ke Calais lebih kurang 2 jam. For lunch KC cuma sediakan tuna sandwich jer...

From Calais we headed towards Belgium. Tapi sebab dah petang tak sempat nak round2 cuma singgah ke chocolate factory. Belgium kan famous for its Belgian chocolates...

Lepas shopping2 chocolate, kami bertolak ke campsite di Amsterdam. Nama campsite ni Uitdam terletak di daerah Marken. Uniknya Amsterdam atau Holland nie, paras air nya lebih tinggi dari daratan. Bayangkan.. laut lebih tinggi dari daratan. KC ada explain camne benda ni jadi tapi tak tulis so tak ingat...

Sampai di campsite lebih kurang pukul 7ptg kalau tak silap. Campsite ni tepi laut so sangat cantik pemandangan. We all ambik cabin 4 katil. Boleh tahan lah cabin nie, 2 katil double decker and ada satu dinner table with 4 chairs. Ada participants yang berkhemah. Kesian diaorang, 2 malam tido kat situ... tiap-tiap malam hujan lebat. Nasib baik takde khemah yang terbang. We all yang tido dalam cabin ni, tak sedar apa.. letak jer kepala bye bye lah jawab nya... Toilet pulak quite far from cabin, pastu nak air panas kena pakai token.. satu token 5 minit = 1Euro.

Malam ni for dinner - Nasi putih, pickled salad and kari daging. Hmmm.. memang best makan tepi laut malam2 cuma yang tak best gelap hehehe.. makan kena pakai torch light.

We've conquered Europe!

At last expedisi ber'kelana' kami tamat pada hari Sabtu lepas. Two words to best explain the experience.. BEST and PENATNAKMAMPOS!!!!!

Kalau orang tanya my opinion samada patut ke tidak join Kelana Convoy, the answers is YES. Tapi don't expect first class treatment sebab nama nya pun BUDGET trip, tapi it's really worth your money. Memang lah penat sebab selama 2 weeks tu jadi nomad.. hehehe berpindah randah from one camp site to another, pastu makan pulak nasi kawah (kadang2 dalam gelap plak tu, nak makan siap kena suluh dgn torch light), toilet plak guna toilet public - paham2 jer lah kan. Tapi itu lah nama nye pengalaman...

Trip kali ni ada 2 bas, so lebih kurang 100 ppl in total. Ramai family and kanak2, orang tua pun ramai - makcik2 & pakcik2 from Malaysia. Participants from all over the world ok, from Jeddah, Kuwait, Russia, Ireland. Paling best dalam trip ni banyak sungguh Doktor - doctor yang baru habis belajar, doctor yang tengah belajar, doktor veteran pun ada. So sape2 sakit free consultation jer lah.. tapi ubat beli sendiri lah kan...

Anyway all in all trip ni memang best. Thanks to tour manager Hairul and his crew Brother Sam, Kader and Shafiq not forgetting coach 2 driver - Mike.

Swine Flu update

The kids are getting better now. Hmm... what a week! Rumah tu dah tukar jadi ward. At first angah jer kat sakit, then last friday along pulak and then adik. Along condition is worse, siap dgn vomitting and diarohea (betul ke spelling nie???)

Anyway I do think this is a possible swine flu case, but maybe just a mild one. Why did i say that? Because today the GP call me and ask how's Angah condition!!! Mana pernah dia orang call to follow up if it's just a normal flu. Must be that thing but they just don't want to alarm us.

Apa pun alhamdulillah budak2 tu dah sihat, tinggal batuk jer sikit. Ubat memang cukup time kena bagi.. kalau lambat skit temperature naik balik. And they are now quarantine in the house, tak boleh pegi sekolah. Alah sekolah pun lagi 2 minggu jer, pastu dah summer break.

The other day someone forwarded an email about natural remedy for swine flu. Thanks for that. It's really useful.

Use 9 star anise, 6 cups of water.
Boil in earthern pot if possible or else avoid steel/metal pot.
Boil for about 30-40 mins until about 4 cups left.
Drink twice daily over the flu period.
Above volume good for 2 adults per day.
To add flavour, add couple of red dates (remove seed before boiling).

FYI - Annise star tu bunga lawang.. ;0)

Nak termuntah2 budak2 tu minum.. tak kira kena minum jugak! I searched anisse star on the internet , and it's true indeed! They used this to make the swine flu vaccine - TAMIFLU. Tak sangka.. kita selalu guna masa nak masak kari jer.. hehehe..

So kalau ada sape-sape yang rasa tak sihat masa musim Swine Flu ni, I strongly suggest you try this. No harm bukan nya drug pun. It's all natural...

Last nite we were so worried that angah might have SWINE FLU! Got a note from their school saying that 2 children and a member of a staff at Forest Field Primary school got swine flu. Ya Allah punya lah we all risau bila baca note tu. Kan dia demam.. teringat lah pulak masa ambik dia kat sekolah the other day, her teacher said half of her classmates are not feeling well too! Dah lah tu, lately ni swine flu cases are increasing rapidly in UK! What make me worried most is... it looks like she got some of the symptoms...

Typical symptoms of swine flu are:

sudden fever,
and sudden cough.

Other symptoms may include:

headache,
tiredness,
chills,
aching muscles,
limb or joint pain,
diarrhoea or stomach upset,
sore throat,
runny nose,
sneezing, and
loss of appetite.

Dah ler dia tu asthmatic. So I straight away called NHS direct (the line was so damn busy!). As usual they asked lots and lots of questions. They said they've put a note to our GP and we had to call them first thing in the morning. Lagi lah we all suspens..

Last night her temperature was constantly aroung 39C or more! So called the GP this morning and they seems to be so relax about this!!!?? Sakit hati tak? Bengang betul! Bila call sekolah pulak and asked them who's the infected kid, they won't tell! Hmmm.. finally when we see the Doc, he said she's fine, just normal flu. Bila tanya how can we differentiate between swine flu and normal flu.. Doc tu pun tak boleh nk jawab!

At the moment, she looks better.. although she still have the temp. We continue to give her paracetamol every 6hrs, more fluids and keep her cool. Nasib baik hari ni hujan as predicted, so sejuk sikit!

And today adik pulak demam.. but he's still active and bubbly as usual, so I'm not too worry. Let's hope everybody will get better soon.. IAllah.

HOT! HOT! HOT! Past few days has been really hot.. boiling! Kalau cakap camni orang kata eksyen plak.. kat Malaysia tu lagi panas lah oiii!! But probably because we are now climatise to the weather here, so memang panas! Kat sini tak humid mcm kat Malaysia, so budak-budak ni dah macam sama warna dengan anak2 Paki and Bangla kat sini - SUNBURN!

Fan is probably the most popular item at the moment. Hmm.. maybe we also need to buy another fan.

Angah is not feeling well, biasa lah dia kalau musim panas, sure demam. Got a call from from Mina yesterday (kat sini pun ada Minah jugak ok.. tapi minachi lah kan hehehe) - the lady from Along & Angah school, said we need to pick up angah cos she's not feeling well. Apparently half of her class was not in for the same reason! This morning went to see the doctor. Just normal fever, drink lots of water and keep her cool. Risau jugak with the swine flu thing lately...

Weather forecast says it's going to rain, heavy rain on Friday. See??? Kejap panas, kejap hujan.. mana lah tak sakit. BUt this could be a blessing so it will cool down a bit.. Hopefully.

Sebenarnya hari ni ada request from my newly preggie friend..nak makan my mee hoon goreng. Yang tak tahan tu dia kata mee hoon goreng I sama standard dengan mee hoon yang mak dia masak! Sangat terharu I dengar ok.. Hmm harap-harap mee hari ni sama sedap dengan mee yang dia pernah makan sebelum nie. Last minute notice kan, guna jer apa bahan yang ada kat rumah tu.

To mommysarah hope you enjoy the mee goreng ok... Sedap tak? hehehe.. and hope you'll feel better again soon.

To my another preggie neighbour, mummy Akif - you tak mengidam pun dapat jugak mee tu. To other non-preggie neighbours yang dapat mee tu, rezeki you all lah yer. Yang tak dapat jangan 'small heart' eh.. insyAllah next time.

Tapi ni bukan yang I buat ok.. ni gambar cilok kat internet. Dah letih sangat tak larat nak ambik gambar. The next day when I got home after work.. habis dah??!! Hmmm budak2 ni pun makan macam Shrek :D

Why ??? Hehehe..

Atuk & nenek (my mak & abah) is coming over in October! And what's more.. they will be here during Raya Haji, best nyer! It will be 2+ years in October since the last time I saw them. Hmmm dah boleh buat list nie... apa yer??

4 weeks from today we'll be on our way to conquer Europe!! Really looking forward to this trip... We'll be joining the Europe trip organised by Kelana Convoy. We'll cover 8 countries in 14 days. Hopefully everything will go as planned. Can't wait! This is definitely worth at least 8 entries in here. Check it out later..

Today as i was sitting lazily in front of the PC, browsing through the pictures (patut lah ssloww, banyak nyer gambor!). Then terjumpa lah gambar2 lama dulu, alah masa bercinta hehehe.. including our wedding pictures. As I was looking at the pictures.. betapa 'berbeza' nyer we all sekarang. Hmmm....

First bercinta.. then after almost 10 years of marriage, now with 3 kids. I guess we are now moving to the next phase in life. People say life begin at 40. Is that true? If that is the case then we have another 6 years to go. What do we want in life? Career? Wealth? Success?? To me everything have to be balance. And for us, the kids are our most precious assets. I just don't understand how some people just simply ditch their kids just because they have other 'important' agenda which to me can be put off for later. But if you put off your time for the kids, will you get it back? Once missed, it will never come back. TRUST ME...

As for your work, be it in the office or anywhere else.. if you miss it today, you can always continue later. WORK.. it will never finish! TRUST ME...

That's why I've always like the working environment here. You won't see people around in the office at 5.05pm!! Everybody is gone by then, even the big boss. Kalau kat Malaysia, the trend is 'lagi lambat balik, lagi bagus, lagi rajin'.. Pooorahh.. Never belief that. My principle - WORK SMART NOT WORK HARD.

This way or that way? Nak attend ke tak attend? Confused... I was invited to attend a promotion interview.. which is totally brilliant but this is for my job back in Malaysia!!

Mula-mula memang confirm tak nak balik, then the interview was postponed lah pulak. Bila call kawan2 kat UTM they said balik lah. Adusss... malas nyer nak pikir. Nak balik ke tidak? Balik best jugak.. dapat jumpa family and dapat jugak makan durian hehehe, tapi kalau balik.... banyak pulak pro and con nyer.

Check flight ticket aritu banyak yg available.. murah lah jugak. Dah memang tempted sangat nak balik tapi still 50-50 lagi masa tu. Then pikir punya pikir: BALIK lah! Tapi... tengok2 tiket murah dah habis!! Huhuhu... takde rezeki. Takpe lah lain kali kot... insyallah ada rezeki lain.

Caravan Holiday

Below are some pictures from our caravan holiday recently. We love caravan holiday, for us it's just so comfy and convenient as we have all the space just for us, can cook our own food and the facilities is just superb!

This is our second caravan holiday. First time it was at Perran Sands in Cornwall. We were so excited at that time, forgot to take any picts of the caravan.. So this time we make sure pictures are taken before the l'il monterzs make a mess!! So here goes...

This is now something we must do every year! Hmmm.. wonder where our next destination will be?? Most probably Scotland.... :D

It has been quite in here these few weeks. Aiseh.. so sorry this madam is the 'busiest' person lately with work, family, business etc2. So what have we been up to this past few weeks?

My family - The kids got new bikes and were really excited about it. Last two weeks we had a very nice sunny and warm weather, just the right time for some riding lesson..

Then at home last week we had a BBQ in our backyard. Invite some nearby neighbours. Weather was good, the foods was extremely marvellous (masuk bakul angkat sendiri :D ) thanks to those who bring along some additional food sampai tak muat meja hehehe... and most important thanks for coming over.

Since we missed the Snowdon Mountain Railway, we decided to take another train at Ffestiniog Railways. This is a steam-hauled trains that run along a 13.5 mile from Porthmadog into the mountains at Blaenau Mountains.

Creaso back...

It's been a while since my last entry... been very busy lately with some other time consuming project. Letih betul...anyway we just came back from North Wales.

Creaso means welcome in Welsh. Totally different from English kan? If you hear Welsh people talk, it's even worst! We were there for 4 days - stay at Greenacres Park in Porthmadog. (In a 3 bedroom super spacious caravan best!!! - I'll story more about this in another post)

North Wales is famous for its scenery.. these picts are proof. Taken on the way to the holiday park...

So many castles (welsh say castel), dunno which one to choose. At the end we only managed to visit two castles - Caenarfon Castle and Conwy castle.

First destination - the popular Snowdon Mountain Railway. FYI - At 1085 metres Snowdon is the highest mountain in England and Wales. But just as we arrived the weather does not look good. Cloudy and showers.. kalu kat atas tu sure worst. FRUST.. we decided not to waste the money just the see the rain. Off we go to our first medieval castle..

Mini reunion

On the way back from Lincoln, we drop by Kingston Upon Hull for a 'mini' reunion. My hubby, Riza, Kak Noriza and En. Ahmad Shafuddin of Jabatan Pengurusan, FPPSM UTM

Humber Bridge Hull - ala2 bridge kat San Francisco tak? We have to pay £2.70 for the toll charges. First time we used a toll route, we rather pay the toll than having to sit for an extra 30 minutes travelling time if we took the un-toll route.

At Kak Noriza's cosy and beautiful house. Thanks Kak Za for the nasi goreng, popia etc. Buat susah2 jer.. sorry tak dapat makan banyak sebab masih full lagi.

With Shafuddin & family. Thanks for the hospitality and cause tapau untuk we all mee goreng.. hehehe..

Eh.. what's this? Actually this is not related what-so-ever to our trip. This is Butter bun I made a day after the trip. Not croissant ok, butter bun that looks like croissant. Gone in 60 seconds opppss that's a movie title. This one actually gone in 15 minutes....

The highest point of the castle.. masa ni kena nyanyi national anthem Long Live The Queen hehe... if you translate lagu negeri johor Allah Selamatkan Sultan, hah sebijik translation LLTQ cuma tukar queen dgn sultan jer.. tune pun sama. Tak caya cuba check...

This is inside the castle. Family admission fee £11.. at first tak nak masuk, tapi kalu tak masuk rugi plak. So masuk lah jugak... There's a high wall around the castle. Which one is the actual castle pun tak sure.. rasa dah runtuh kot, tinggal part of it jer.

Cuti-cuti UK: Lincolnshire

Happy Labour Day to all you people out there... Kat UK ni 1st May tetap keje as usual instead the coming Monday tu jadi bank holiday. So again another day off. This time we all jalan-jalan Lincolnshire.

These are some picts in Skegness, our fist stop. Selalu dengar orang cerita pasal Skegness sounds really happening, in reality biasa2 jer. Long sandy beach, nice Skegness pier, some entertainment area by the beach.. tu jer. Fridge magnet pun tak lawa hehehe...

Next stop Lincoln city (Day One). By the time we arrived in Lincoln, everybody are already exausted so check in hotel dulu.. eat2 a bit and freshen up. Driver recharged dulu (tido lah apa lagi kan?) Some of Lincoln images on day one - Windmill, the waterfront, Black hole and the Waterside shopping area by river Whitham...

This is Lincoln Cathedral - one of the location for the movie DA VINCI CODE. Interesting architectural design but looks a bit scary and creepy to me! And just opposite the cathedral is Lincoln Castle.

April 2008 our first trip of Jalan-jalan UK - CORNWALL. Very nice place worth the long journey! 6 hrs ok.. well its actually took us 8hrs to get there coz we drop by Stonehenge which is a bit out of the way..

Picnic

It's weekend again. As usual Saturday and/or Sunday is a must 'day out'. Someone suggest we go for a picnic so ok lah... PICNIC it is! Eventhough on Friday my colleague Chris a.k.a my weatherman (sbb dia ni every Friday akan check weekend weather for me.. hehehe..) said it's gonna rain on Saturday. Sebab dah plan punya pasal and anak2 dah excited dengar nk pergi picnic, we just pray it's not going to rain.

Locatian: CARSINGTON WATER. The place is quite remote somewhere in Derbyshire near Peak District. Actually tempat ni cuma reservoir jer, but they managed to commercialise the place and make money out of it. Ada visitors centre complete with all the facilities, shops, play area, picnic area, cycling and walking route, sailing boats and etc.

And guess what, Chris was definitely right. Quite positive it's gonna rain! At that time how I wish I'd postponed this to Sunday but it's too late now. Hentam je lah! Hujan pun sekejap je..tapi lebat lah jugak.. Nasib baik ada payung besar! Tent Mazrul+Syam. Dapat lah tumpang berteduh masa hujan hehehe... Mekasih jugak to Black+Su for their green and red gazebos, dapat makanan and tempat BBQ berteduh..

Yang paling seronok? Of course anak-anak ler.. No matter rain or shine.

When the rain stop, we had a walk around the area. The weather was quite cold and windy. Snap more pictures, then back to the picnic site. Perut pun dah lapar balik so makan-makan again. By the time we finished makan, the sun starts to shine again. This time it's for real.. so we lepak2 ala2 sun bathing gitu hehehe...

Cuti-Cuti UK: Newcastle-Upon-Tyne

After jalan2 Durham, we went to Newcastle. Its about 30 minutes drive from Durham. Different from Durham, Newcastle is a big city just like Nottingham... maybe bigger. One thing i noticed there are lots of bridges kat Newcastle ni. Nizam kata kalau kat Newcastle kena pergi ambik gambar kat Millenium Bridge in Gateshead.

Ni lah bridge nyer. When we were on the bridge, we can feel it like shaking and moves up and down a bit - maybe to support all weights. At certain times, this bridge will be tilted up to give way to ships to pass by below. On the other end of the bridge, ada Sunday market. NOthing interesting pun. Nak beli sourvenir pun kedai tutup... So jalan2 a bit then balik.

On the way back, we drop by ANGEL OF THE NORTH. Tak tahu lah tempat apa ni, in the middle of nowhere, tapi nice lah untuk ambik gambar. Since adik is asleep, mama had to wait in the car while the rest went to take some picts with the angel...

Hari ni tak pergi keje - tak sihat! Batuk, demam, selsema.. suara pun dah macam Ella nie huhuuu. So i'm taking this opportunity to update some of the picts from our trip to Durham. So here goes...

Ni gambar town Durham. Town ni kecik jer. According to my host, yang famous kat sini is the Cathederal. Patutlah sign post along the highway refer Durham as THE HISTORICAL CATHEDERAL CITY. Cathederal ni actually macam church jugak tapi bigger and ada banyak function lain kot (agaknya lah..)

Ni lah cathederal nyer.. If u look carefully ada KUBUR kat depan tu. Nampak tak? If i'm not mistaken this is one of the location they used in HARRY POTTER movie. We were here on a Sunday, so berduyun-duyun lah umat dia org ni datang utk Sunday prayer. This place is one of the tourist attraction, so admission is free. But we don't want the kids to go in.. takut jugak macam 'keras' je tempat nie. So papa and uncle Nizam jer masuk and took some pictures..

Nampak tak dua kereta putih tu? The white MPV is ours - that's a Chrysler Voyager and Mercedes putih sebelah tu kereta 2N.

Tuesday 21st April 2009 - School reopens after 2 week Easter break. Finally.. what a relieve!! Budak2 ni pun bukannya suka sangat cuti except kalau bawak berjalan. Kalau terperap jer kat rumah, they prefer to go to school.

School name: Forest Field Primary School
Location: Just 5 minutes walk from home.

Along is in Year 4 - Class 4BD. Teacher name Mrs Dunne
Angah is in Year 2 - Class 2LD. Teacher name Ms Davis.

Great news we got today - EZADDIN will starts his playgroup session at this school in SEPTEMBER! Macam tak percaya adik is going to school soon... Dah besar hero mama ni!!

Saturday 11th April 2009 we head off to Durham to visit our old friend Nizam&Nazimah. Aunt Nazimah was papa's course mate in Lboro 2001-2002. We arrived together for the first time in UK via East Midlands airport on 14th Sept 2001 (Just 4 days after the Sept 11th incident!)

Anyway..back to our cuti-cuti UK story. Since Nazimah&Co just came back from their holiday on Friday, so we thought tak nak lah sampai sana awal2, bagi chance dia rest dulu. Had to wake up really early that morning, prepare some fried rice for bekal. As usual..kat sini kalau berjalan kena bwk bekal, kalau beli tak kenyang furthermore takde banyak option pun... huhuuu

Destination: The Deep - one of UK best aquarium.

As expected, it was raining just as we arrived. So cannot posing2 by the seaside (sea ke river ekk??). Anyway, we were one of the earliest visitors for the day.. hehehe... so don't have to queue that long for tickets. Once inside, it's just like any other aquarium i guess... cuma the different is this place explore the ocean from the beginning of time, through the present day's and into the future of deep sea research. As usual the most excited person is my Darth Maul! First time ever to see something like this..

E-fish. Stay still and they will come swimming to you. Once you try to step on them, they swim away...

Bought some souvenir on the way out and then that's it...Still raining when we came out so run quickly into the car. Stomach starts to grumble as it's already 12noon, so we picnic in the car je lah.. makan nasi goreng, and teh O panas.. hehehe... then start the journey again. Gendang gendut tali kecapi, kenyang perut tido mati lah apa lagi, hujan pulak tu! Kesian to driver lah kan??? At last after only 30 mins driving papa surrender, so we stop at one of the service area and everybody ZZZZZZ....

The journey continues.. we head off to York Designer Outlet. Actually takde nak shopping apa2 pun, but since its on the way so we all singgah lah sekejap. As usual kat tempat2 shopping ni kalau tak jumpa melayu memang tak sah but to bumped into someone you know is something not always happen but it did! Jumpa Rini Asnida staf FKA UTM with her hubby,baby, mum and dad... She's doing her PhD at Leeds University. Leeds + Nottingham = jumpa kat York!

Finally we're really on the way to Durham. I'm zzzzz now, to be continue lah ekk..

Angah: Mama why do you want us to study at Cambridge?
Mama: Because it's one of the best university in the world
Angah: Abis tu macam mana nak belajar kat situ?
Mama: You got to have good grades at school, then only boleh masuk Univ tu..
Angah: What's good grade?
Mama: *thinking* Yang paling pandai sekali dlm kelas...
Angah: Then what should i become?
Mama: Angah nak jadi apa?
Angah: Angah nk jadi doktor...

Suddenly...

Adik: Adik tak nak jadi doktor, adik nak jadi Darth Maul (dengan confident dan pelat)

Hah?? Rosak anak aku sorang nie... salah papa dia lah nie!

Friday 10th April - Good Friday

Monday 13th April - Easter Monday

Tuesday 14th April - Nottingham University holiday, meaning one xtra off day for mama!

Almost everybody in Nottingham went away for Cuti-Cuti UK including us! At first we don't have any plan then suddenly papa said we should go somewhere... but where?? As usual mama is always the trip planner... pening jugak, bila last minute plan semua hotel/B&B either dah fully booked or double/triple mahal than usual price!

But it's such as waste to just stay at home at time like this, so we decided to take a day trip to Cambridge since it's just about 2 hrs away from Notingham.

We park at Madingley Road park & ride and took a bas to Cambridge. The ticket cost £2.20 if you buy from the ticket machine or £2.50 if you buy it straight from the driver (aiyyoo.. itu macam ke? 30p masuk poket driver ke?)

What so special about Cambridge? Nothing.. hehehe.. except it is home of one of the world's premier Universities... well the name speak for itself kan?? There are lots of bridges along River Cam hence how the name Cambridge come from (agaknya lah kot...).

Punting on the river Cam is one of the most popular attraction in Cambridge.. it is the most popular way (and relaxing too!) to see the famous bridges and colleges along river Cam. So we all pun went punting lah jugak. The tour takes about 45 minutes and lead by a chauffeurs who are also expert punters - they have to lah.. if not tak bergerak lah we all..(and they are probably the most brilliant chauffeurs in the world too cause they study in Cambridge hehehe...).

After punting we jalan-jalan around Cambridge.. because it's Good Friday, there were events held at most of the popular colleges such as the Trinity college and Kings college so visitors were not allowed into college. Frust lah jugak... and then the weather was not on our side too, so we had to hurry.

Back at the park & ride, we had a quick car boot picnic, then drove home in the rain...

The next day we head off to Durham pulak. To be continue.....

Matlock Bath

Saturday 04th April 2009 - It's the first weekend since papa return. We must do something interesting this week! Need to make full use of papa to drive us around ( a bit further from Nottingham) hehehe... So we went to Matlock Bath.

Matlock Bath is a unique village south of Matlock in Derbyshire, built alongside the River Derwent in a steep and beautiful gorge. It's a very nice little town, about 45 mins drive from Nottingham via M1 (Exit Junction 28). Kalu nak tengok map, click here.

Interestingly, eventhough this town is small and location wise maybe a bit remote, but there are lots of bikers kat sini.. and not cikai bikers ok..

Then we went to Heights of Abraham, one of the attraction here. You can either walk up the hill or took the cable car. Obviously it will cost you some £££ for the latter option (mana ada cable car free kan?) but we thought what the heck... this is gonna be our first and last visit anyway! For family of 5 (including Ika nasib baik dia kecik..save sikit) we have to pay £39 (return journey). Each car can fit max of 6 people, so just nice for us!

Gayat lah jugak so apa lagi, look straight ahead jer lah! Duduk diam2 jer. Hehehe.. tu lah dulu marah atuk sebab takut heights masa naik Empire State Building kat NY, sekarang ni mama plak gayat.. hehehe.. tu lah balasan. Ampun abah!

Easter

This coming Sunday 12th April is Easter Day. Today at work mama's big boss distributed some easter eggs for everybody.. maybe he has had a visit from Easter bunny during the weekend kot?? hehehe... I wonder why people celebrate Easter?? As far as I know Easter has something to do with bunny rabbit and eggs.. but why ehh?? So i did a little research and this is what i found...

La.. ye ke? Tak pernah tahu pun... masyallah. Tak sangka plak sebab ni dia orang celebrate Easter.

Anyway, last week papa's friend Sonia gives the kids three chocolaty Easter Eggs. Three BIG one! It's all gone now.. we sure do enjoyed the eggs, but we're not celebrating EASTER for sure!!

Nak tengok the BIG EASTER EGGS? Tada.... besar kan? But it's hollow inside.. kalau everything chocolate.. tak habis makan rasanya...

Top left - of course that's me lah... and the three precious are Ezzety a.k.a Along, Emmylia a.k.a liza@angah and of course our one and only hero, Ezaddin a.k.a adik or darth maul (star wars die hard fan nie.. thanks to papa dia lah kan.. sebab kecik2 dulu tak puas main star wars, so now guna anak as reason to buy those stuffs.. )

Anyway these are the MOST IMPORTANT people in my life... not forgetting my mak & abah and my mama & papa of course!

Spring vs Daffodils

Finally it's spring... usually when daffodil start to grows, it's a sign that spring is just around the corner. Well after almost 6 months of dry leafs (or maybe no leaf at all) and bare trees.. daffodils turn out to be something nice to colour the land again. I guess there're various colour of daffodils but so far i've only seen yellow only daffodils, white-yellow daffodils, white only daffodils and... tu jer kot!

As usual when sun starts to shine again (eksyen jer, tak panas pun...) people start to melepak outside again. They're so jakun bila nampak matahari. Everywhere in the park, recreation ground, playground or kat mana-mana jer lah boleh melepak there are lots of people feasting their skin to the not-so-panas sunshine. It will be more skin and less clothing season.. tu yang malas nk tengok tu.

And as for us.. .sama lah jugak! except in terms of clothing, we're still the same ok! So we went to University Park lakeside.. play some football, light saber fighting, running around and of course taking some pictures.

Papa's back!!

Finally after almost 2.5 months balik Malaysia, papa is finally home! Adik is the most happiest person to see papa (siap tepuk tangan lagi..) Flight from JB was at 7am on 30th March, depart from KLIA at 10am. Arrived in Heathrow around 5pm 30th March, took a bas from Heathrow to Nottingham at 730pm and finally arrived in Robin Hood land at 10ish.. took a taxi from Broadmarsh Bus Station and arrived safely at home around 11pm.

Things papa brought back (among others) are...

1. Upin & Ipin pyjamas and shirt
2. Some Star Wars figurines from duty free shops - for adik
3. Magazines for mama - so I can catch ups with latest gossips from Malaysia hehehe....
4. Camera Nikon D90 untuk auntie Riza
5. Compact camera for mama... hehehe.. thanks darling!
6. Other stuffs - too many to list here

However what most important is.. papa is back safe and sound! Although he looks a bit kurus (maybe rindu kat kita kot??? ye ke papa?) but at least his mission accomplished!

What ever it is.. We are so glad he's back with us now. So lepas ni boleh lah kita ajak papa jalan-jalan kan? Boleh ke papa??

22nd March - It's Mothers Day today. Suddenly I miss my mak very much.. Mama would like to take this opportunity to wish my two mothers (nenek and tok mama lah kan..) a very happy mothers day (eventhough kat Msia they celebrate this in May), and thanks a lot for all your support and love. Without them, there are no ME (and papa) and without ME there will be no Ezzety, Emmylia & Ezaddin...

Patience

10th March 2009 - Patience is the companion of wisdom. Remember that my children. Last night mama was so angry and couldn't be patience anymore. Well actually mama is a bit stress lately. It has been 45 days since papa left us for Malaysia. Papa need to do his data collection in Malaysia, and he's going to be there for 3 months. Papa said if he can finish early, he'll come back earlier.

That means mama had to do everything, not that I'm complaining but sometimes it's just so stressful when you had to do it all by youself. To make it worse, the boiler keep on creating problems which mean no hot water and no central heating. And the landlord said - the boiler man (si pendek) is not sure what's causing the problem and he cannot fix it until it is totally broken! I think he really need to study the manual again or quit being a boilerman!! It gets mama really worried because when there's no central heating the house will not get warm enough (thanks to our landlord for the single glazing window..) and you guys will be sick - Angah might get her asthma again, along with the allergy and adik might continue with the runny nose.

Then adik keeps on doing stuffs he shouldn't be doing i.e. pee in his pants... (not again!).. Ohh tension nyer... At the end adik get it real 'good' from me.. and that night in his sleep he got a slightly high temperature.. kesian adik DEMAM.. terkejut agaknya!

Sorry guys.. sometimes adult didn't mean to do what they did, but when anger gets in control.. that's what happen! So remember this.. always be PATIENCE as it is the campanion of WISDOM.

Sorry adik.. mama didn't meant it.

Welcome to our world..

Life is like a box of chocolate... you never know what you'll get! You'll never know..

I have created this blog especially for my kids (Ezzety, Emmylia & Ezaddin) so they'll remember that this part of the world were once part of their life.... I will keep updating this blog with all the good times, the bad times, the nice and the sad moments they had here so that one day when we're back in Malaysia again, they can share this with their friends, teachers or maybe even with their own kids (insyallah) . It's a bit late as we have been here for almost 1.5 years now, but better late than never. I'll try to recollect any precious moments prior to this day and include it in here too. I'm sure this is something my kids will cherised one day...

15 September 2007, that's the day we first came to Nottingham. To live here is not something we look forward to (at least not for mama), but something we had to do... Papa have to continue his PhD study. Papa's PhD will take about 3-3 1/2 years to complete, so we will be living here until mid 2011 (hopefully). Let's all pray papa study will all go smoothly and papa can finish on time.
